Sort Symbol Box

Choose this command from the Symbol menu to sort the symbols in the symbol box.

This submenu provides three functions:

  • By Number: Symbols are sorted in the symbol box by their symbol number.
  • By Color: Symbols are sorted in the symbol box by their color. If a symbol consists of several colors, the color which got the highest position in the symbol table is used for sorting.
  • By Status: Symbols are sorted by their status (Normal, Protect, Hide). Visit the Symbol Status page to get more information about hiding or protecting a symbol.

Select

Choose this command from the Symbol menu to select symbols in the symbol box. In the submenu you can find the following functions:

  • Used: Select all symbols which are used in the map.
  • Unused: Select all symbols which are not used in the map.
  • Invert: Invert the selection. Selected symbols become unselected and unselected symbols become selected.
  • All: Select all symbols.
  • By Symbol Number: Select a symbol by symbol number. Choose a symbol number in the Select Symbol by Symbol Number dialog box and click the OK button.
  • By Color: Select symbols by color. Choose a color in the Select by Color dialog box and click the OK button. All symbols with the chosen color are selected.
  • By Font: Select symbols by font. Choose a font in the Select by Font dialog box and click the OK button. All text and line text symbols with the chosen font are selected.

Symbol Favorites

Show Symbol Favorites

Choose the command to display the symbol favorites in symbol box.

You can add often used symbols to the favorites. The favorite symbols make the handling with large symbol sets easier.


Add to Symbol Favorites

Select the symbol in symbol box and choose Add to favorites from Symbol menu. If this command is not activated then choose Symbol Favorites from View menu.


Remove from Symbol Favorites

Select the symbol in symbol favorites. Click the right mouse button on the symbol. Choose Remove from favorites from popup menu.

Symbol Tree

Show Symbol Tree

Choose this command to display the symbol tree in symbol box. You can order the symbols in groups (e.g. theme or colors). The symbol tree makes the handling of large symbol sets easier.

New subgroup

Click the right mouse button on a group in symbol tree. Choose New subgroup from popup menu. The New group is inserted as subgroup of the selected group. Click on group name to change this name.


Insert group

Click the right mouse button on a group in symbol tree. Choose Insert group from popup menu. The New group is inserted on the same level. Click on group name to change this name.


Delete group

Click the right mouse button on a group in symbol tree. Choose Delete group from popup menu. Symbols from the delete group are again in the group Other.


Add selected symbol

Select the group Other in symbol tree and a symbol in symbol box. Click the right mouse button on a group in symbol tree. Choose Add selected symbol from popup menu.


Remove selected symbol

Select a group in symbol tree and select a symbol in symbol box. Click right mouse button on the group in symbol tree. Choose Remove selected symbol from popup menu.

The removed symbol is again in the group Other.


Move group

Move a symbol tree group with drag and drop.


  • Normal: Set all symbols of a group to Normal status.
  • Protect: Protect all symbols of a group.
  • Hide: Hide all symbols of a group.
