OCAD History

OCAD is a graphics program for drawing maps or plans of all kinds. The software program was originally developed by Hans Steinegger for the creation of digital orienteering maps. Today it is used successfully in all areas of professional cartography.

After the release of the first version of OCAD in January 1989, the program has been and will be continuously developed and adapted to customer requirements.

In 1992 the company Steinegger Software was founded by Hans Steinegger.

Hans Steinegger died of heart failure on June 19, 2004. As a result, OCAD AG was founded, which is an independent joint-stock company owned by individuals. At the headquarters of OCAD AG in Baar, Switzerland, 7 employees are employed.
