OCAD is very widespread in Swedish communities for the production of small-scale maps. In spatial planning, a great variety of studies are conducted to investigate the affects of land usage. The associated maps are frequently created with OCAD.
OCAD is an excellent tool for fast production of these maps. Many communities use highly developed GIS software to perform spatial analyses. However, the GIS software often has insufficient cartographic display possibilities. Therefore, the communities use OCAD in order to produce high-quality maps of the GIS analyses.
“OCAD Internet maps” are often used by Swedish communities in order to publish their maps in the Internet. It is an easy way to present the schools and other public buildings of a community.
